How beautiful it is to exist at the same time as Adrianne Lenker
In the halfway months of twenty-twenty, I spent a vast amount of my mornings nestled against a solitary tree in a field, a stones throw from the house I grew up in. I don’t remember what it was that made me feel so safe there, amidst a time so saturated with worry. I do, however, remember that I was listening to Adrianne Lenker.

Searows loves you carefully with new EP, ‘End of the World’
There’s an endearing quality in the vulnerability of modern folk music that provides a warmth akin to that of visiting the house I grew up in, or contemplating that one love that never really materialised. ‘Calico’ paints a sonic romance between Ryan Beatty and collaborator, Ethan Gruska.
About half-way through Brockhampton’s ‘Saturation III’, you’ll hear the voice of a twenty-year-old Ryan Beatty singing the hook on ‘BLEACH’; a track that shook the walls of nearly every house party I went to in 2017. Painfully unaware that Beatty’s career would run parallel with my music taste for the six years to follow, I continued to admire him from a distance.
